Through countless films, books and television programs, he developed a profound interest in World War II history. His college professor, Dr. Gordon Prange, author of Tora! Tora! Tora!, Miracle at Midway and At Dawn We Slept was his greatest inspiration. Dr. Prange lived the history he wrote about. Lambert was also influenced by Herman Wouk's two great novels Winds of War and War and Remembrance. Though he didn’t live the history of Wouk’s novels as his professor had, Lambert’s narrative transports the reader to a time when heroes he wrote about fought and died. He finds weaving a story into the fabric of factual historical events gives him the freedom to develop strong characters while making history relevant and more interesting. Lambert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He and his wife Danielle, reside near Dallas, TX. They are the proud grandparents of six, one of whom is a serving United States Marine. |
